BRUCE CAMPBELL
NO “TRUST” IN THIS TRUSTEE

Investigating and exposing corrupt elected officials takes a lot of time, especially when those officials commit the number of unethical and inappropriate acts that the members of Janet Gandolfo’s Crew have committed.  The “Gandolfo Crew” is the moniker for the Village Attorney and her pawns who sit on the Board of Trustees in the Village of Sleepy Hollow and do her bidding – Trustee’s Wompa, Campbell, Handelman and “I don’t need a Certificate of Occupancy" to sell my house, Stupel.

Let’s take a look at one of the Gandolfo puppets – Trustee Bruce Campbell.   Does anyone find it curious that Trustee Campbell, a loyal member of the Gandolfo Crew, who voted NOT to hire former Marine Captain and Village resident, Gregory Lobato as a village police officer, is the only member of the Village Board of Trustees who attempts to defend himself against the anti-veteran criticism that has been leveled at the Board members who voted against hiring Captain Lobato?   We, like many of you, have watched the board meetings in disgust, as Captain Lobato, a decorated Marine Officer, was subjected to disrespect and humiliation at the hands of some of the Trustees, including Mr. Campbell.   While those members of the Board who voted against hiring Captain Lobato have been labeled anti-veteran as a group, we have NEVER heard anyone accuse Mr. Campbell of personally being anti-veteran.  Yet, Bruce Campbell, has taken an extremely DEFENSIVE and HOSTILE posture towards the anti-veteran labeling and seems to take the allegation personally.   WHY?  Is his conscience getting the better of him? Is he trying to explain away his GUILT?? For those of you who have not seen any of the meetings, you can view them here: http://www.sleepyhollowny.gov/board-of-trustees/pages/watch-board-meetings
Watch the videos of the Board meetings and observe Trustee Campbell as he attempts to refute the idea that HE is anti-veteran.  In a pathetic attempt to defend himself, Mr. Campbell raises his voice, pounds his fist against the table, and shouts while pointing an alien-like finger towards the audience: “MY FATHER WAS A MARINE, AND HE FOUGHT IN THE PACIFIC”.    The question that Bruce Campbell apparently is attempting to ask, without actually asking, is…. Considering that my father was a veteran, “How can I be anti-veteran???”  Well, the fact that Mr. Campbell’s father served seems not to have had much of an effect on the younger Mr. Campbell’s feelings towards other veterans, as can be confirmed by Mr. Campbell’s actions toward Captain Lobato.  Mr. Campbell should be judged on his own actions, not those of his father.  Accordingly, taking into account Mr. Campbell’s commentary and actions toward Captain Lobato, there is no question that Bruce Campbell is ANTI-VETERAN!

Shortly after the “Gandolfo Crew” faced a deluge of backlash for their discriminatory decision not to hire Captain Lobato, we here at Mount Pleasant Exposed noticed a very suspect write-up in the local newspaper, The Hudson Independent, which tends to print the Gandolfo Party line.  The October edition contained a small piece about Bruce Campbell and the timing of the article was rather questionable!  You can view the online edition, here:
http://www.thehudsonindependent.com/index.php/technology/people/item/1109-november-2014-heard-around-the-watercooler

The article stated the following:
“Sleepy Hollow Village Trustee Bruce Campbell has been recognized by the Locust Valley Rotary Club for his work on a documentary, A Soldier’s Story, about a wounded veteran coming home from the Iraq war.”

Does it not raise questions that the timing of this article coincided PERFECTLY with the pubic allegations that TEAM GANDOLFO was anti-veteran?  What documentary was it that Bruce Campbell actually helped produce?  What is the Locust Valley Rotary Club?  What type of recognition did Bruce Campbell receive, if any????
Possibly, before printing the Campbell article, the Hudson Independent might have asked Mr. Campbell, why, if he truly cares so much about veterans that he made a documentary about wounded Iraqi war veterans, then how can he have discriminated against another veteran who was seeking a job as a police officer in his village????

An investigation into the matter of the documentary has revealed the following facts:
  • Bruce Campbell was a film teacher at the Locust Valley High School on Long Island.
  • Bruce Campbell organized a high school film festival that features films produced by students (not teachers).
  • The film in question, “A Veteran’s Story”, is a film that was created by high school students in collaboration with the Locust Valley Rotary Club.  Rotarian Katherine Gibson of the Locust Valley Rotary Club (NOT BRUCE CAMPBELL) spearheaded the project to document the stories of local veterans.
The full story can be found here: http://locust160.rssing.com/chan-20855694/all_p465.html

Now, the question that needs to be asked is…how would the Hudson Independent, a local Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow newspaper find out about a small insignificant high school film festival in Locust Valley, Long Island?  And why would they choose to print a story, which references that Bruce Campbell was “recognized” by the same club that initiated the production of their own film?  What was Mr. Campbell’s part in all of this?  This entire matter is suspect.  Was this story planted in the Hudson Independent by the Gandolfo Crew, in an attempt to paint Mr. Campbell as someone who really has pro-veteran beliefs??  Why would Mr. Campbell lie and try to take the credit for producing this film; something that he didn’t do?  The film in question was envisioned by a Rotarian and produced by high school students?  How can Mr. Campbell take credit for this?  While Mr. Campbell should be held accountable for this falsification, the Hudson Independent bears a greater responsibility for printing this bogus report.  Shame on both Mr. Campbell and the editors at the Hudson Independent.
The Campbell story highlights a very serious problem facing our Country today.  When elected officials can coerce a newspaper into publishing false information to protect them and their unethical conduct, we as a society are in trouble.  The media is supposed to publish the TRUTH and not use their pulpit to protect the improper conduct of unethical politicians.  In the matter before us, the Campbell article appeared in The Hudson Independent because Bruce Campbell or Janet Gandolfo pressured the paper to put it there, in an attempt to cover up the fact that Mr. Campbell had personally discriminated against Captain Lobato for being a veteran.  The Hudson Independent should call itself anything but INDEPENDENT.  Like most things in the Village of Sleepy Hollow, the newspaper is under the corrupt thumb of Janet Gandolfo and her Trustee puppets.  Maybe a more fitting name for the publication would be the GANDOLFO GAZETTE - all the news that unfit to print!

In short, we are disgusted at the fact that Bruce Campbell not only discriminated against a local war hero, but more dismayed by the fact that he then tried to deflect from the facts by taking credit for helping wounded veterans when he hadn’t done so.  Mr. Campbell, you have no credibility.  Your unethical conduct has been exposed, and rather than running for re-election, you should STEP DOWN IMMEDIATELY because of your disgraceful and insulting actions.  Mr. Campbell, you are an embarrassment to your community!  IT IS TIME FOR YOU TO GO!!

  1. After reading this article and examining the contents in the links to the article, I have little doubt that Mr. Campbell prompted the Hudson Independent to print that piece in an effort to make him look as if he was supporting wounded veterans. Additionally, I don't see how he was involved with the film other than being the teacher of the students who created it, i.e. he wasn't the one who conceptualized the topic of wounded veterans, the woman from the Locust Valley Rotary Club was. I believe that this is a very low and despicable thing to do. It was a desperate act that I'm glad was brought to light. I'm not sure how many people saw that copy of the independent, but I hope more people see this story and the truth gets out to the voting public about Mr. Campbell. I will not be voting for Mr. Campbell nor any of the other members on his ticket.
